Stylized orc

Personal practice focused on building production-ready assets

Project

This project was part of my ongoing personal studies to practice character modeling and improve my sculpting and texturing workflow in Blender.

I wanted to create a stylized orc with exaggerated proportions and strong shapes — focusing on anatomy, surface detail, and readable forms. The goal was to make a character that feels expressive and game-ready while exploring material contrast between skin, armor, and accessories.

Process

The workflow included sculpting, retopology, UV unwrapping, and PBR texturing, and rigging.
I focused on finding a balance between clean topology and bold stylization — using layered materials to separate metal, leather, and skin.
Lighting was kept neutral to showcase the materials clearly while preserving the hand-painted feeling of the textures.

What I learned

This project helped me strengthen my understanding of stylized anatomy and form language.
I learned how to push proportions and material contrast without losing believability — and how lighting can enhance the sculpt’s visual weight and personality.
